Naked at the hot springs

 

I love soaking in natural hot springs pools. It’s nothing like swimming in a pool or at the beach or even a hot tub or jacuzzi. It’s more primeval, back to nature.

It’s especially nice if you can be naked in a private pool. Alone or with a friend.

I have soaked naked in isolated natural hot springs in small streams while hiking by myself but there’s only one set of pools where I’ve often been able to hire a private pool. It’s an old fairly basic facility and very cheap. Many of the fancier places not only charge a high price for private pools but also require at least two people to share for safety reasons (in case a bather passes out). No such rule at this place and it costs little more than a hamburger for 30 minutes.

I recently had the pleasure of bringing a young Japanese friend to join me at these hot springs. He was used to being naked in onset in Japan so it was quite natural for him if more erotic for me. I first showed him around the natural springs that surround the facility - the steaming boiling stream, the mud pools and small geysers.

This visit reminded me of a long forgotten trip from more than 20 years earlier. I had been hiking in a national park 300 km from home and staying at a youth hostel. I was chatting with a cute guy, probably about 18 years old, at breakfast and we were both heading back towards my home city. I had a car. I’m not sure what his plans were but quite likely it involved hitch hiking which was more common then. I offered him a ride. We drove through an isolated area and cross a range of hills before descending to the geothermal area where the hot springs were. He wasn’t obviously prepared for swimming which was no surprise to me as my hope was to bathe naked with him anyway. I have no recollection of what happened but I remember him as very good looking and we had a good time. I’m pretty sure he was straight and had twigged to the gay vibes as he politely ended his journey 50 km short of my home city. Ah, well, nice to have company for the journey anyway.
